This September 30th marks a special occasion for us. It was 30 years ago that we arrived at Higher Hacknell Farm in a small blue van, newly wed, and with our young sheep dog, Nip. We also came with a lot of ideals. It’s been quite a journey since then!
It was a whole new world for us, and though Tim had been to agricultural college and worked on a number of farms, starting one from scratch ourselves, buying machinery and stock, was an exciting challenge.
Farming is a way of life for us, and this means that our farming methods are a part of our ethos. In the early days we decided to ‘go organic’, a radical decision back then, but one which is as important to us now as ever. There have been hurdles to climb, but rewards too.
And whilst it’s an occasion to look back, it’s also about the future, and the next stage of the journey. We are marking this 30 year celebration with the launch of our new website. We hope you’ll like it, and our produce too!
Best wishes
Tim and Jo Budden
