What a wonderful summer! We've never known one like it. Although we've enjoyed the sunny days, made some sweet hay, and brought in the barley, it's been tough, and we are well down on silage and fodder for winter.
But at this time of year we are not going hungry! The new season lambs are plump and ready, the beef has finished off grass and JIim's vegetable field is a picture of colour, as well as all the wild food; blackberries in the hedges, mushrooms in the field.
So we are putting on a feast here in the old 17th century barn in collaboration with the Devon Food movement. It's a collaborative pop-up restaurant concept set up by former Michelin star development chef Luke Fearon. We will produce and serve small plates from a set menu to allow you to explore a true taste of Higher Hacknell Farm.
Join us for this rustic approach to what fine Devon food is all about. Only £35 for a Devon Farm Feast and a BYOB event to boot. Plus we are including a glass of the farm tipple...vintage cider! Also available to purchase by the flagon on the evening. As if you need any more convincing!
